HOST | JEFF CHERRY

As CEO and founder of Conscious Venture Lab & Managing Partner of the Conscious Venture Fund, and most recently, host of the podcast, Capitalism: The Remix, Jeff Cherry is an evangelist for the transformation of capitalism. Through his work with private investors and early-stage businesses, it has always been his goal is to create businesses operating at the intersection of profit and purpose. Jeff merges his divergent experiences to assist companies in developing more conscious, purpose-driven business models and help investors build both societal and financial value. His diverse career and leadership expertise has given him the opportunity to hold titles such as hedge fund manager, designer, entrepreneur, educator, consultant, investor, mentor, partner, founder, & CEO. It’s these roles which have provided the foundation for him to become an expert in disciplines and industries including technology, design and construction, finance, hospitality, and professional services.

As a thought leader in the areas of stakeholder management and the emerging discipline of Conscious Capitalism®, Jeff consulted with authors David Wolfe and Raj Sisodia on their book, Firms of Endearment: How World Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose. Jeff later expanded on the ideas of Conscious Capitalism® to form Concinnity Advisors, a hedge fund focused on identifying and investing in companies operating from a more holistic, long-term value mindset. Now an expert in the emerging field of Conscious Capitalism, he is consistently invited to speak at conferences and universities around the country on the topic of impact investing and new models of business.

Jeff received his Bachelors of Architecture and Masters of Science in Architecture from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and completed extended executive study courses at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Jeff’s most recent honor was as the first recipient of the inaugural 2019 Laudato si’ Challenge Impact Award. This international award was given during a conference and ceremony in Vatican City in December 2019 and wanted to honor an individual who most exemplified the principles of Laudato si' - caring for our common home and how business can be a tool for human advancement. According to Eric Harr, Founder & CEO of the Laudato si’ Challenge Foundation, Jeff was the first person they thought of and was chosen because they wanted to, “lift up a leader who could serve as an example to millions, a leader who leads not just with fortitude, but with tenderness. A leader who does the right thing even when it's not easy. A leader who is a friend first and puts people above profits.”
